Sales Director, APAC 2 applications

Working out of Sydney, Australia and reporting to the SVP General Manager EMEA (based in London, UK), this role will be responsible for leading the APAC sales team, optimising the revenue opportunity in this high growth region.
This is a role that will demand significant travel, initially being the first person on the ground with the objective of building a team and the Companys presence in Australia and the APAC region to grow and develop this team in line with revenue growth and expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the SVP General Manager EMEA to develop and implement a strategic sales plan for the region to meet defined business objectives.
  • To include:
  • Develop the MI business in Australia, New Zealand, Japan and overall in the APAC region;
  • Be the first person on the ground for MI;
  • Secure initial sales with direct clients to kick-start the region;
  • Establish ESP and Agency partnerships in Australia, New Zealand and Japan;
  • Facilitate the support for existing MI clients in the region;
  • Work with and support MI expansion in Japan;
    Definition of targets and coverage plans that reflect both the existing revenue base and potential opportunity;
  • Contribute to strategy for pricing, new business, strategic alliances and retention;
  • Implement new value added offerings and product launches;
  • Competitive analysis and strategies;
  • Identify key opportunities (markets, companies, geographies) and align resource to maximise these opportunities;
  • Identify and build relationships with key executives and decision makers within client firms
  • Develop relationships with top industry leaders in the region
  • Establish the first MI team on the ground in Sydney to support the APAC region to mimic our global structure;
  • Develop the direct and channel sales to meet agreed revenue targets for AUS / APAC;
  • Work with MI senior leadership on strategic and tactical planning and execution;

Essential Skills / Knowledge / Expertise:

  • Experience of developing a US-HQ business in Australia / APAC region;
  • Experience of email marketing and emerging technologies and markets;
  • Extensive client and partner network;
  • Strong commercial and technical experience;
  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in different time zones to parent organization;
  • Experience of recruiting and developing top talent;
  • Experience of leading sales teams across disparate geographies;
